Nikki McClain is a youth development professional with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA). Ms. McClain has been with the organization for over 15 years and has over 29 years of youth development experience. In her current capacity as Senior Regional Director, Ms. McClain oversees 10 Clubs in the city of Atlanta and Fulton County. Nikki has always valued hard work and servanthood, something that her parents modeled while growing up in Niagara Falls, NY. In 2018, Nikki was honored with BGCMA’s prestigious Leadership Impact Award for her visionary guidance and leadership. Ms. McClain is also the co-chair of the DEI Council for BGCMA, working daily with colleagues to ensure that BGCMA is an inclusive environment for adults and not just for the over 3,000 youth served daily.
Ms. McClain holds a B.S. degree and has attended numerous trainings, in-services, and conferences in the areas of youth development, programming, safety, management, social emotional development, and operations. Ms. McClain is also certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid and serves as a Safe Spaces trainer for BGCMA. Ms. McClain is also a national trainer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America and has been certified by the David P. Weikart Center for Youth Program Quality as a trainer in Youth Work Methods. Ms. McClain has developed and facilitated numerous trainings on topics including Positive Discipline, Building Community, Staff Management, Effective Communication, LGBTQIA+ Inclusion, and Images in the Media. One of her favorite adages is by Nelson Mandela, “I never lose. I either win or learn.”
