Presenter: Dominic Longo Ph.D., University of St. Thomas
This session will analyze examples of contemporary toxic Muslim and Christian masculinities and “radicalization” using critical perspectives from the realms of gender studies, queer theory, and comparative theology. Through consideration of what gender has to do with professional development, job performance, and organizational health, attendees will come away with new tools to use in thinking about gender diversity as well as its importance. The session will end with a note of hope and practicality by offering suggestions for how we can create greater space for masculinities that are constructive and thriving rather than destructive and disturbed.
