Description
We talk about inclusion in our workplaces, but what does that really mean and how do we actually create it? Even more difficult, how do we allow people to experience it in training? This session will give both a front-stage experience of inclusion training activities, along with a back-stage overview of training tips and resources so participants can replicate the activities in their own organization.
Because we are more likely to believe and understand concepts when we’ve experienced them on a practical level, this session is all about interactive exercises to teach concepts of inclusion. We start with an experiential definition of inclusion, then move to an activity that lays out the five progressively developmental stages of inclusion, as well as the mindsets and skill sets of each stage.
Activities and discussions allow participants the opportunity to connect their own experiences with key concepts of inclusion, identify the mindsets and skill sets of inclusion, and finally recognize specific steps to move to higher levels of inclusion.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn key concepts of inclusion through interactive experiences.
- Identify five developmental mindsets of inclusion.
- Learn how to lead these activities in your own organization.
